The Dirtybird Flight Club team is excited to announce that we will be using Chainlink VRF as a verifiable source of randomness in our upcoming 2022 NFT drop. Chainlink VRF will also be used to select winners in community giveaways to make them truly fair, transparent, and without favoritism.

Dirtybird Flight Club’s latest NFT drop features a new related collection. As part of the new drop, holders of the original collection of Dirtybird Flight Club NFTs will be able to transform their birds.

As part of Dirtybird Flight Club’s upcoming 2022 NFT drop, holders of the original collection may operate a new top-secret mechanism at their own discretion to transport their bird to a new fate. These NFTs will be generated with a set of traits randomly assigned via support from Chainlink VRF. For the latest information on upcoming drops and giveaways from Dirtybird Flight Club, click here.

For those who aren’t familiar, Claude Vonstroke initially founded Dirtybird Records as an underground record label in 2005. Since then, Dirtybird Records has expanded to include events, apparel, and a roster of 75+ musicians who typically specialize in electronic music ranging from house, funk, bass, and more. In 2013 and 2014, Dirtybird Records won “Underground Label of the Year” at the International Dance Music Awards.

Dirtybird Flight Club is an extension of Dirtybird Records, currently featuring 9090 unique NFTs generated from a pool of over 270 traits. Pop-surrealist Birdcap designed the collection by reimagining Claude Vonstroke’s original hand-drawn bird logo for Dirtybird. Dirtybird Flight Club NFTs are more than just images — holders get access to exclusive token-gated IRL & metaverse events, and more holder benefits outlined in the upcoming Flight Path 2.0. Meetups also occur at Dirtybird IRL events such as Dirtybird Campout, Dirtybird CampINN, and Dirtybird BBQs.

Dirtybird Flight Club will also host a series of giveaways powered by Chainlink VRF as a way to give back to our community. During the giveaways, all Dirtybird Flight Club NFT holders will have a chance to win Bird NFTs, special access to IRL shows, and Dirtybird merch. For both the NFT drop and giveaways, Chainlink VRF will help ensure that all holders have a fair chance at receiving the rarest rewards. One of the main reasons we opted to use Chainlink VRF is because it is fully transparent and secure, unlike other RNG solutions.

On a technical level, Chainlink VRF works by generating both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The cryptographic proof will only be generated if the process is tamper-proof, and the smart contract will only use the random number if it has a valid cryptographic proof. Anyone can view the source code of VRF and the on-chain cryptographic proof to see that randomness was generated fairly. “Since day one, the DFC team has been working constantly to reward our bird holder community with exclusive opportunities and creative NFT drops,” stated Claude VonStroke, CEO and Chief Music Producer at Dirtybird, “with Chainlink VRF, we can also offer the reassurance that all DFC holders have the same odds.”
